To many professionals a day is replica of replica of someday. They are stuck in same routine doing same work, facing same type of problem.

In technology field only one thing is permanent, ie CHANGE.

New language, framework or tool were introduced almost every day. Remaining where we are, depending solely on what we already know; you fall behind everyone. One step behind being obsolete… How do we develop or mature? The answer is straightforward: deeper or wider. To stay relevant and progress your career, we need to decide to go deeper or mature by expanding to skill set to technologies. But both need willingness to step out of our comfort zone.

Developing is not all about coding, it's learning to embrace new technologies, keep up with the trends in the industry. Deeper requires taking time to learn and master a technology, tool, or discipline. Taking a deep dive into your trade. With doing so, you'll be an expert authority of your discipline. This makes you a great asset to your team or in your company. Individuals approach you not only because you are capable of writing a bit of code, but trust you with the project. It will pave the way for far more specialized positions and higher-end responsibilities.

Not everyone desire sits on chair, then re-till that chair. Go look for new technology, widening your knowledge beyond one field, acquire the capacity to resolve difficulties in various areas. It’s about understanding how different technologies connect and being versatile in what you can work on. For an instance, if you are a backend engineer, change your shoe to a T engineer. You will be exposed to how testing working, how frontend end working, or how to optimize a database. You not might be an expert in single field, but you can understand how everything works. A jack of all trade.

Technology comes like a never-ending river, it goes only ahead, and those who moves along with it will always discover thrilling opportunities waiting for them. Whatever you do, the key is to keep moving and growth never occurs when you’re standing still.
