Why Doesn’t Firefly Support All Brokers Yet?

Ever wondered why your favourite broker isn’t available on Firefly yet?
You’re not alone—we hear this question all the time!
Let’s break it down in a way that’s easy to understand.
Firefly Talks to Brokers Through “Adapters”
Imagine Firefly as a super-smart trading robot.
But every broker speaks a different language. To communicate with them, Firefly uses “adapters”—kind of like a translator.

Building These Adapters Isn’t Just Plug and Play
The very first requirement?
The broker must have an Open API that is available, compatible, and stable.
Without this, integration isn't even possible.
But even with a usable API, each adapter still needs to be:
Each adapter needs to be:
- Developed from scratch based on the broker’s API
- Tested thoroughly to ensure everything works perfectly
- Checked for scalability so your trades go through even when the market is busy
It’s like building a custom bridge between Firefly and each broker.

But Firefly is FREE!
Yes, you read that right.
We provide Firefly completely free, which means we have to carefully consider where to invest our time and resources.
Before we add a new broker, we ask:
- Is the API stable?
- Can it handle large volumes?
- Are there enough users asking for it?
So Why the Wait?
It takes time, testing, and effort to bring in new brokers.
We want to give you a safe and reliable trading experience, not a rushed integration that breaks in the middle of a trade.

What Can You Do?
If your broker isn’t listed yet, here’s what you can do:
- Pick from our currently supported brokers:
✅ Zerodha
✅ Angel One
✅ IIFL
✅ Motilal Oswal
- Sit tight while we do the magic behind the scenes!
We're always listening to customer requests and will continue adding more brokers based on demand and technical feasibility. If you're waiting for your broker to be added, we appreciate your patience. In the meantime, we recommend choosing one of the supported brokers to start using Firefly right away.
